Center
A gathering
of friends and family follows most funerals. This informal
time allows mourners to tell stories about the person who
died, to cry, to laugh, and to support one another. It is
an informal time of release after the more formal element
of the funeral ceremony. The gathering is also a transition,
a rite of passage back to the living again. It demonstrates
the continuity of life even in the fact of death.
We know
it is not always easy or convenient to gather at the family
home, or the home of a friend. The Family Center is designed
to provide a reception after the service. The Family Center
can easily seat 50 people for a full course meal or accommodate
over 75 for a more casual function. A reasonable fee includes
the use of the Family Center, assistance of our hostess, table
linens, dishes, silverware, and custodial services.
